Kanye West Debuts "Famous" Music Video At Los Angeles Event

Just a few evenings ago, Kanye West had a video debut of "Famous", the first track on The Life of Pablo, featuring Rihanna. In this video, there are 12 celebrities laying naked side by side on a very wide bed. These celebrities are represented as wax figures and the celebrities consist of Kanye West, Kim Kardashian West, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Ray J, Amber Rose, Donald Trump, George Bush, Bill Cosby, and Anna Wintour.

This tableau of celebrities sleeping side by side was inspired by Vincent Desiderio's painting Sleep (below), as Ye mentioned at the event.

The combination of celebrities in this video is very intriguing, from Bill Cosby, who Kanye West defended on Twitter earlier this year, to Rihanna who is laying next to her abuser Chris Brown, to Taylor Swift who is referenced by misogynist lyrics in the song.

A night-flashlight camera makes a very eerily and kinda creepy scene, as if it was capturing a crime scene.

Kanye has received a lot of hate and a lot of love for this video. Some say he has gotten too far away from hip-hop culture and he is ruining his image, and others praise him for his artistic genius creating something way different from the norm than seen in most hip-hop music videos. What are your thoughts?

The video can be exclusively streamed on TIDAL here (not surprisingly).
